The 5' XLP training nets smaller frame is ideal for younger players. It is designed to catch as many balls as possible with nearly the entire net being a catch pocket while using heavy duty netting and double stitching to prevent against wear and tear. Sets up in less than a minute and fits easily into a travel bag for transportation. Also includes ground stakes and a removable strike zone target.

Net disintegrated in 6 months
I bought this 6 months ago. Kept it in the garage and now the net is disintegrating. Has made a huge hole and is now not even useable. Very disappointed.

Weld at the corner base pole failed.
I bought this net 6 months ago and have only used it for weekend tournaments. The weld at the bottom base pole failed and now the net is useless.

Great net, easy set up
I am a little shocked at the negative reviews. I liked the 7' version so much, that I bought the 5' version as well. The 5 foot is nice, because my kids can set up without any help. I currently use it for my eleven year old team, and it has lasted since they were 8. The elastic has started to lose its elasticity, and that kind of sucks, but it is a few year old. This net is easier to move around during practice than the seven footer, and is quite versatile in its applications. We use is a back stop, pitching drills, tee work, and sometimes a cut off man. It does blow over in the wind, so make sure you use stakes or put equipment bags on the legs.

Great item for younger players
Net was great for younger players 5-9 years of age. Caught ball for batting and pitching well, easy set up and take down. I think a larger net would be in order for older kids as they have more power and need the additional height. But overall good product.

Didn't Last Long
Kept indoors in garage for hitting. Was a very good net for the price however, broke before 1 year at the weld point on the base tube where the vertical tube is placed. No rust, just broken weld. Disappointed. Also, balls pop out more often than staying in the net as designed. Had to use an additional backdrop.

Does not catch the balls as advertised.
I have the 7ft version of this product. Was told by the rep at the Colorado Fireworks Tournament that it would catch the balls better than product "X". NOT the case! after about 5-7 balls they jump out like popcorn. The ONLY reason I bought it was I thought it would be an improvement over the other net out there. Big disappointment, I now use it as backstop instead of what it was designed for.
