EASTON CALLS UPON LOCAL HIGH SCHOOLS TO BATTLE FOR HITTING SUPREMACY

Hit Lab Battle Challenges Local Baseball and Softball Teams to Find the Best Hitters in Los Angeles

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. (January 22, 2019) – Easton announced today the launch of the Easton Hit Lab Battle, a first-of-its-kind hitting competition designed to connect with high school baseball and softball programs in the greater Los Angeles area.

The Hit Lab Battle is made up of a series of qualifier and championship events, which will ultimately crown the top baseball and fastpitch softball hitters from over 20 local high schools in the greater Los Angeles Area. Easton will host up to 700 players—freshman to varsity— at Easton Headquarters over several weeks to compete for a variety of prizes and bragging rights.

“Easton prides itself on developing the industry’s best products, and connecting with high school and college baseball and softball players,” said Easton SVP of Sales & Marketing Dan Jelinek. “We thought a pre-season hitting competition would be a fun way for these athletes to showcase their talents in our state-of-the-art Hit Lab, where many of our MLB athletes also workout in the off-season.”

The Easton Hit Lab Battle will kick off on January 24th and run through February 20th, 2019. Participants will use Easton’s new lineup of BBCOR bats (Project 3: ADV, Fuze and Alpha) and ASA/USA Softball as well as USSSA Softball bats (Ghost Fastpitch), and Easton will use HitTrax to record and visualize exit velocities for all participating teams to determine individual winners and average individual scores to determine team winners.
