EASTON DIAMOND SPORTS, LLC. BRINGS ICONIC “GREEN EASTON” LOOK TO SLOWPITCH BAT WITH NEW SCHOOL POP

NEW MODEL, SIMPLY NAMED “OLD STAMP”, LAUNCHES IN CONJUNCTION WITH B5 PRO BIG BARREL’S RETURN AND AHEAD OF LOOMING USSSA SLOWPITCH BAT RULE CHANGE DEADLINE

THOUSAND OAKS, CA. (October 1, 2020) – Easton Diamond Sports, the industry leader in baseball-softball product innovation, today announced the launch of a slowpitch bat designed in the look of Easton’s iconic Green Easton baseball bat with its latest technologies and best performance. Easton recently introduced the return of the most storied baseball bat in the game, the B5 Pro Big Barrel (also commonly referred to as “The Green Easton”), which is also available for purchase today. Many slowpitch players likely used the original B5 Pro, which initially debuted in 1978 and quickly gained legendary status with elite high school and college players in record-shattering numbers, back in their baseball playing days.

“The opportunity to pay homage to the legendary Green Easton was a no-brainer,” Easton Director of Slowpitch Associations and Event Marketing Don Cooper. “We just needed to make sure we did it justice, and I know we did. The performance speaks for itself.”

The Old Stamp is designed with Ultra Elongated Fibers (UEF) for a longer sweet spot, providing players with unrivaled feel and power. It combines Easton’s patented 2-piece ConneXion™ technology, optimized handle flex and original FIRE FLEX™ tech design to eliminate vibration on every swing while providing a soft barrel compression and amazing power right out of the wrapper. Easton’s FIRE FLEX™ slowpitch bats are renowned for their barrel flex, providing the ultimate performance for players of all levels which includes elite pro men and women players.

“To say I’m excited about this bat would be an understatement,” said Pro Slowpitch Hall-of-Famer and Team Easton Ambassador Brett Helmer. “Being able to step back in time with one of our cornerstone bats, and deliver it again with our current technologies is a dream come true.”

With a new protocol being established for slowpitch bats in accordance with the start of the new “USSSA Standard for Testing and Bat Performance,” Easton Slowpitch is prepared for the future as well as excited for what the extended timeline means for players that currently own or are considering purchasing bats with the existing USSSA slowpitch bat certification. Old Stamp will include the current USSSA stamp (USSSA 2014), meaning it will be approved for play indefinitely. In addition to USSSA, Easton’s 2021 Old Stamp slowpitch bat is also approved for play in ISA as well as NSA, and available for purchase in stores and online starting today (October 1, 2020). With a 12.75” long and 2 ¼” diameter barrel, sizes include: 34”/25.5 oz., 34”/26.5 oz., 34”/27.5 oz., 34”/28.5 oz.
