THOUSAND OAKS, CA. (November 18, 2019) – Easton Diamond Sports, the industry leader in equipment innovation and technology, today announced its full support for USSSA’s decision to extend the timeline for planned changes to its slowpitch bat certification to 2023.

With a new protocol being established for slowpitch bats in accordance with the start of the new “USSSA Standard for Testing and Bat Performance,” Easton Slowpitch is prepared for the future as well as excited for what the extended timeline means for players that currently own or are considering purchasing bats with the existing USSSA slowpitch bat certification.

Here’s a breakdown of the timeline: Whether you’re playing in the USA or Canada, all Easton slowpitch bats already in market with the current USSSA stamp (USSSA 2014) are approved for play until January 1st, 2023. As the calendar gets much closer to 2023, Easton will have new innovations certified with an updated USSSA stamp.

“USSSA’s announcement gives a clear direction for the future,” said Easton Director of Marketing/Sponsorships – Associations Don Cooper. “We now know that we have three, full championship seasons to use existing bats. As a player, it puts all the rumors to rest.”

Easton recently launched its fourth generation Fire Flex slowpitch softball bats, which are taking the game by storm at the highest levels of competition. The Fire Flex IV bats are designed with Ultra Elongated Fibers (UEF) for a longer sweet spot, and are available in Balanced, Loaded, Extra Load and Mid Load weighting for optimal feel. Combined with Easton’s patented two-piece ConneXion™ technology and Carbon Zero Handle, Fire Flex IV bats essentially eliminate vibration on every swing while providing a soft barrel compression right out of the wrapper. Easton’s Fire Flex IV slowpitch bats are approved for play in USSSA with its current bat certification, as well as ISA and NSA.
