SPEED COMP -13 (2 5/8") is rated 2.5 out of 5 by 42.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Big improvement We bought this towards the end of the fall travel season. My son is almost 8 and was struggling to get his aluminum bat around to connect so I decided to purchase this composite which brought down the bat weight 2oz. After completing the mandatory break in he had amazing success in his last game, even hit the winning run in during extra innings... could have been from increased confidence along with a nice new bat either way very proud of him! It was very difficult to find a lighter bat in cheaper aluminum. Well worth it, just make sure you read about breaking in composite bats and don’t use it at the batting cages!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from it was bad I got this for my 10 year old kid and a couple days later during a game there was 2 craks

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Junk Bat lasted less than 6 games into the season. 11yr old cracked it hitting .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Game changer This bat completely changed the game and my son’s hitting. Great bat for beginners.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very Good Youth Bat I purchased the 27"-14oz model. This is a very good light weight bat w/o losing any length. The Drop 13 was perfect for my 7 year old who only weighs 45lbs & is 46" tall. Bat has good pop and a nice sound off the sweet spot. He frequently clears the infield dirt so the pop is there and his bat speed has increased since using this Easton. I find the bat to be well balanced and it doesn't seem to be barrel heavy or end loaded like some of the other bats we have used. Overall, so far we are very happy with this product it is exactly what I was hoping for when I purchased it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid bat!! I bought this as a gift to celebrate a great season for my son and for making All Stars!! The bat has performed as expected!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great bat but eventually broke! Used the bat for a few months (10 years old). It was great while he used it batted very well until end of year it broke.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cracked first time in the batting cage I should have listened to the other one star reviews. First time my 7 year old had this bat in the batting cage it cracked. Another kid on our team has the same bat in a bigger size and he complained about the shock traveling into the handle after every hit.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cracked after 5 games This bat is not durable. Cracked after about 5 games and moderate hits off tee and in practice. My son was diligent about turning the bat 1/4" each swing. Would not recommend.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from bat cracks 4 kids on the team have the bat and 3 out of the 4 have cracked. STAY AWAY!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Good, until it breaks. And it will This bat has decent pop and is super lightweight, but it WILL break. Do not buy unless you like to change bats every other week.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great Bat, Poor Quality. My 6 year old bought this with his own money on Feb 7 when it was first available for in store purchase here in NJ, with a delayed season that didnt start until 7/6 because of covid, we broke it in during May and June. Not even a month into the season and theres a crack in the bat. Very dissappointed, reached out to Easton to see if they are going to replace it, being we are new to the buying pricey bat scene, didnt know we had to hold on to the receipt so we'll see what happens. If they replace it i'll change it to a better rating if the replacement holds up. It is a great swinging bat, but just wasnt expecting it to fail in 4 weeks.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great pop, not durable Bought this as a test to increase bat speed for a good hitter. Worked perfectly and added probably 10ft of distance, but cracked in 3 places. Waiting for warranty replacement from Easton.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Easton should do better Composite material has no pop, ball sounds dead when making contact. Will stick with metal from now on, disappointed that a company like Easton would even put this bat on the market.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not durable. I bought this bat in February but of course with the shutdown our season was delayed until June. We are only 9 games in and the barrel cracked on a line drive to right field. My son is a small framed 11 year old and he loved the weight of this bat but it didn't last a season.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don’t waste your money Bought the bat 2 months ago and my 6 year old has hit maybe 300 balls with it and it’s already starting to crack.
Date published: 2020-07-02
Rated 1 out of 5 by from DO NOT BUY THIS BAT Cracked within the first few uses. Noticed all of the other reviews and the crack was identical and in the same place. Poor quality Easton, especially for paying $160!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid bat with great feel. I bought this bat for my son that is in t-ball, so he would be ready to use it in coach pitch next year. Its a little on the heavy side for him at 27in -13 but he still swings it good enough to get nice pop off the bat. I've swung it off a tee and it is a very solid bat that has good feel in the sweet spot.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bat cracked in less than 50 swings. My 11 year old swung this bat once in the cage and his first swing of the game. It cracked almost all the way around l, just below the barrel. Very disappointing in such an expensive bat not lasting
Date published: 2020-06-10
Rated 1 out of 5 by from cracked in a month used this bat for 2 practices and 1 tournament and it cracked

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Bat! My son is ~60 lbs and 4ft tall. This bat works for him. His swing is quicker and he's catching up to the balls nicely. He loves playing catch but now he really has fun out there when we have batting practice. Godsend.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from DO NOT BUY THIS BAT! 2 BATS CRACKED-FROM TEE WORK! Bought in February, received replacement for cracked bat in March, placed in garbage can in April. What good is a warranty if the product is junk? Total waste of money. My 7 yr. old son was so excited to get this lightweight bat because he's on the small side and he cracked it the first practice. Figured we got a dud, and sent it in for warranty replacement. By the time we received a replacement our season had ended due to Covid19. So, he's been hitting off a tee in the backyard during stay at home orders and here we go again, it cracked! Easton will only warranty a bat 1 time in the first year so his "brand new" bat goes in the garbage - still shiny, still looking new, fresh grip, and never been used in a live pitching situation. Please learn from our disappointment and find a better bat. WISH WE COULD GIVE ZERO STARS - DO NOT BUY THIS BAT!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great bat! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] 6-year-old loves it, more pop than other drop 13s and perfect for machine/coach pitch
Date published: 2020-04-28
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cracked after 2 weeks The bat was great for my 7 year old right up until it cracked 2 weeks into use.
Date published: 2020-03-11
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Broke in a month Great looking bat. Broke it in with just hitting off tee and soft pitch. My 7 year old son hit it well but does not hit for power. Bat cracked a little after using it for a month. Must be a defect because his team mate has the exact same bat and it too broke on the same night!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Upgrade to Ghost X Hyperlite My son is 9 and plays Minors but is under 60 lbs. He can swing this bat very fast compared to his favorite wood bat. It has opened up since we bought it but hasn't fully been broken in. I'd classify it as a lighter Ghost X Hyperlite with a little more pop, well worth the 150 bucks. Nobody can throw anything by him without him getting a piece of it, which was the point.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Satisfied [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great bat with an even better drop ratio. I bought this for my 8 yr old that was having issues with bat speed due to the weight of most other 28” bats. With this drop weight, he now has great bat speed through the strike zone and is hitting much better.
Date published: 2020-03-03
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Doesn’t feel like a drop 13 Bought the 28, 15 oz bat. Feels just as heavy as my Ghost (28, 17 oz bat).
Date published: 2020-02-19
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Fragile bat Bat cracked within 1 week of purchase. Player complained of hand-sting and handle vibration. Purchased for 7 y/o. Maybe got a dud... was able to exchange for a different model.
Date published: 2020-01-31
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Light Weight Powerhouse! Bought this bat for my 7 year old son as an alternative to his ghost hyperlite bat. Because of its composite design this bat is very light. And will still pack a great pop. And with the one piece design with thinker grip there’s less of a sting as well. He now uses this as his game day bat. It really is a light weight powerhouse of a bat.
